Onemain Brightway+ MC $3000 CLI to $6000 CL

Morning!

8 months into a rebuild. I always thought OneMain was a subprime lender.

I was pre approved in the low 600s last October with a 3000 CL 1% CB 30%+ APR and this card comes with a guarantee of either an interest rate reduction or a CLI.

Please note I started with the + version meaning I had no AF. The regular Brightway version usually starts with an AF and maybe a lower limit?

Honestly, this has been one of my best cards to rebuild with. Been keeping it PIF and using like 20-30$ a month on it.

after 6 months of on time payments, they offered me to increase my total CL from 3000 to 6000 OR to get an interest rate reduction of .25%....

since I don't pay interest on it, and lets be honest... .25% of an APR reduction IS NOTHING, I took the CLI. I honestly didn't think I'd ever have desire for a OneMain product or even that they'd offer cards with decent CLs.

That said, most of the approvals I had seen on here were 500 CL with like 20-70$ afs and no cashback albeit 1% is not much

not a bad card to assist in rebuild and since no af, we will see if I can get regular 3000 CLIs every six months haha.

Have a good day yall!

P.S. my account still says that for every 6 months worth of on time payments, I will continue to be eligible for either a CLI or an APR reduction!

Re: Onemain Brightway+ MC $3000 CLI to $6000 CL

I started with them with a $1500 CL about 2 yers ago, I've chocen the CLI option each time I hit my rewards milestones and I'm now at $4950 CL. The reduced APR doesn't matter to me since I don't carry balances and the APR decreases were like 0.5%'s so it was kinda laughable for me.
