AmEx seems to go their own way. They are happy to give large CLIs, but they also have deep data analysis. It appears, in part, that they use similar risk metrics as for their no-preset credit limit products and will cut you off if they see behavior that their algorithms deem risky.
So yeah, it will absolutely help with utilization but it does not necessarily mean that they will allow you to use up all of your credit limit.

It varies but usually somewhere in the 30-36k range.
sometimes you skip over it as I did but eventually they want that data.
