How to BOOST your score. May easily apply to everyone!

THIS WAS PROVEN ON MY PERSONAL CREDIT REPORT and MAY BE DIFFERENT FOR OTHER PEOPLES CREDIT REPORTS.
Do not exceed number of cards with balances when pulling score.

I can only say for my credit profile it has this effect!

When I have:
4 or less cards with balances on CR, score is higher.
6 or more cards with balances score drops.
Not sure about 5 but think same as 6.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

NEXT IS STRICTLY MY OPINION ONLY, NOT PROVEN.
How many card should a person own.
In my opinion less than 2 is not good for your score unless you can't use your cards wisely. How many is up for discussion. The magic number that I recommend is 4 or more, and that is strictly my opinion, not fact. Smiley Happy

I hope this help you. Please post your experiences since it might be different for other people.

There does not seem to be a consensus at this forum on this subject.  Some say 3, 5, 8, 10 or more than 20.  IMO, it's what works for you.  I have five and personally do not want to be juggling any more.  We all know that it's important to be responsible with them and for max points follow the 1-9% util.

Ilovepizza...I am going to test your theory. Last month I had five cards with balances. This month after my balances report, I will have one card reporting a balance. Looking forward to some results. Should report two early next week and the other two at the end of the week.
