I burned them years ago (non-BK), and they refused a settlement offer except a payment plan, so I ditched them back when they were still NEFCU. Customer service at the time could also have seriously used improvement, not sure if it's changed since then, but they were decently generous.

LI has a lack of good credit unions. There are plenty of them, but they all suck to be honest (Bethpage, Teachers, Jovia, etc.), with no real standout products or service.

They recently changed their name from Nassau Educators Federal Credit Union.

I think Nassau Educators is much more classy.
