Hey everyone! I recently heard about Affinity and it's excellent credit products. Although I'm located in Texas, I felt good about joining because I heard that this CU is not geofenced. I setup the donation in order to join, as well. I submitted the initial application and received an email that my membership was denied. When calling in to follow up about the denial email, the snarky rep- yes, she was having a bad day, stated that even with the donation that membership is not guaranteed. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I'm a little bummed because I took a HP for this. What would you do? Thanks for any advice.
The donation you made was only for means of eligibility to join....which makes me think if there is something else going on. Is your Chexsystems report clean and was it unlocked when you applied?
If so...I would suggest you call again, hopefully speak with another rep and start by asking the status? Let them investigate and then explain why.
To your point, I followed your steps, I'm not in their area and had no issues joining.
@mycash Just looked at my Chexsystems and there was nothing reported on the dashboard. I ordered a score report so we'll see. I don't see why there would be anything negative or would make her suspicious anyway. By the way, the reps response to me earlier asking why it was denied was,"Well don't you have credit unions where you are?" Bruh!
That stinks, floss; sorry to hear that. I saw on DoC that they were recently starting to sort of soft-geofence, that may be the issue.
@TyrannicalDuncery2 Well, that makes sense then.
