The only downside (if you call it that) is that your not subject to any pre-screen offers so I'll be missing those credit card offers with 0% BT for 1 year and stuff but I hope to find them online when I need them. Just wanted to share my joy folks :-)
Even if ethical, I'm already having problems with CLI's and approvals. I think that would slam my ability to get further credit and possibly trigger a reduction in credit lines which has already happened. But it's not bad to learn in case one actually has identity theft. I didn't know anything about fraud alerts before. Identity theft scares me. Someone was tearing open mostly all my mail from banks and credit bureaus. 3 out of 4 debit cards missing in a months time, pin numbers all opened and exposed, missing bank and credit card statements. All my information is in someones hands and I don't know who. One of my credit cards had fraud charges on it. Canceled it, bank said no problem. I didn't put an alert out. Too worried my creditors would reduce my credit limits when this happened. I still like discussing things to learn. One day I might need it.
