Congrats on all of your preservation, determination, and therefore success!! What a great story. Also congrats on the new job and significant increase of income. I'm sure you'll see a huge bump once your utl is down.

Re: Kicking off 2024 with a bang...

Thanks everyone!  One thing I have learned...

Utilization matters.  I had one payoff for $1000 post and I finally got 660+ across the board.  When the big 3 ($20k total) post maybe I'll get 700.

Biggest thing is I ran up a lot of this debt when I was making half the money I am now.  Definitely won't be doing this again.  Once I trim the card portfolio in the very near future I will be practicing AZEO.

Re: Kicking off 2024 with a bang...

I'm gonna find out if the FICO score simulator on this site is accurate.  The total CC debt payoff I've done in the last week is $30k.

It says I'll go from the 660's to the 710-720 range.

Gonna find out by the end of the month.

The simulator is an absolute joke; there are WAY too many variables for the simulator to take into account.  I tried it a couple of times and it was never even close.

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

Well we are gonna find out soon.  Included in my $30k payoff were 3 cards over $20k in limits going from 75% UTI down to 0.

I would think the score boost from 660's is going to be significant.  Will update when they post...

Re: Kicking off 2024 with a bang...

Well the simulator wasn't that far off.

Scores as of Jan 1:

EQ 670

TU 638

EX 639

Scores as of today:

EQ 712

TU 705

EX 705

Not quite where I want to be yet... but I did take out the trash and trimmed my card lineup... and got my UTI down under 30%... 29% as of today's report.  I don't remember the last time I was 700 across the board... 2015 maybe... prior to my gambling issues leading to my 2017 Chapter 13.

Those days are long gone and it feels good man.  Still got some more debt to pay off but I've made great progress towards my goals.

In other news... I just bought a Harley.  Smiley LOL

Re: Kicking off 2024 with a bang...

Thanks a lot @JoeRockhead !  Was truly a blessing to land this new job last fall.  The recruiter who found me and sent me a cold contact email is my new BFF.  Smiley LOL

As for the bike... this is my first HD.  I've ridden sport bikes for years... and sold mine in FL a couple years ago.  I'll be 50 in September and it was time to get something more suited to comfort and touring here in the PNW.  The GoldWing looked too much like a sport bike and I had no interest in the DCT.  The Indian Pursuit was an amazing ride and I almost bought it.  I also took the RG Limited for a spin and it was comparable to the Indian but still not what I wanted.

Then I took the new '24 RG for a spin and loved it.  Much lighter than the Pursuit and RGL and has all the new bells and whistles.  The huge display screen and elimination of analog displays was one of the deal makers.  I put way too much money into upgrades... added a trunk... 2 into 1 exhaust... stage 2 tune... stage 3 audio upgrade... and some cosmetic stuff.  It's at the dealer and I hope to pick it up in the next week or two.
