This does not surprise me, they've been struggling for some time.  A while back they decided to cut costs by canning their highest-paid staff, which of course meant their most experienced staff so the survivors (1) were clueless and (2) now realized they had limited prospects for advancement.  Guess what this did to their customer service.

Civil Service at my job has been doing this for years.  They have been driving all the experieinced people out.  3 years and 10 months I'm going too.  LOL I'm I'm going to develop the worst case of CRS they have ever seen.

They are closing about 13 stores within an hour and a half from my house.

They also closed stores just prior to this announcement. I went to order on-line to pick up an item at the local store. Their website wouldn't allow me to pick up at the local store. So, I drove to the local store only to learn that is was closed up and the sign was down.

I guess Best Buy is finally starting to put these guys down.

Today AP reports they have filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

I always prefered Best Buy over these guys, but I still hestitate to buy big ticket items at either. Maybe Walmart is evil, but they will also save me 100 bucks on items like tv's.
